President Bush Back In N.C.

President George W. Bush is back in North Carolina.

Bush arrived in Greensboro on Tuesday to visit with volunteers.

He will present the President's Volunteer Service Award to Donna Turner of High Point. She has volunteered more than 25,000 hours with Hospice of the Piedmont over the past 25 years.

Bush will also discuss the work of United Way program Youth Focus Inc., which mentors the children of prison inmates. It is part of a nationwide mentoring program that Bush promoted in his 2003 State of the Union address.

Last I looked, "President Bush" is still..President. In 8 years in office you have not had an attack on US soil. The economy was good until the democrats took over both houses. Barney Franks caused the real estate market to crash. This caused the stock market to have investors pull out leaving the US Auto industry without cash. Yes, we will see but I warn you, whenever he goes down the wrong road, I will post when I can. You wanted him as your messiah, well, swinging to the middle from the people that "paid" for his election will make them all pissed.

Moderator, I think the comment is due to the constant disrespect that some bloggers post. It would seem they will blame the president for the tree falling down in their yard or why their toilet doesn't flush. I think the president did a good job in lieu of the circumstances.

To Tonya: We referred to President Bush on second reference as "Mr. Bush" in the story's summary out of no disrespect for the president. As you can see by the article from The Associated Press, they refer to the president on second reference as "Bush", not "Mr. President". Calling the president "Bush", "Mr. Bush" or "the president" on second reference in a story is an accepted journalism practice, used by the vast majority of newspapers, TV networks and TV stations in the U.S. WITN currently refers to Barack Obama as "President-elect Barack Obama" on first reference, and then "Obama" or the "president-elect" for the rest of the story.

Oh you know you didnt...why has WITN chosen to call our President Mr. Bush...he is still head hancho in charge and should be correctly addressed as Mr. President...You have no problem in calling Obama, President Elect. Give the leader of our great nation the recognition it deserves, he IS STILL our President...
