Obama Visits Ailing Grandmother

Barack Obama has left the campaign trail and has arrived in Hawaii. He's taking time to visit his 85-year-old grandmother Madelyn Dunham. Dunham, who helped raise Obama for much of his childhood, is very ill. Obama is expected to resume his campaign schedule Saturday in Nevada.

Will Obama (if elected) give away everything the way Jimmy Carter did???? He's way too liberal, regardless of his ethnicity...

Sue, you take the words right out of my mouth. Obama has 1000 times more character and morals than McCain and Palin put together. I can't even find the words to express my feelings for Palin. It just can't happen!!!!!!!!! As for this artical, I wish the best for his Grandmother. It will be a wonderful day for her to see her Grandson elected.

Re: Obama's Birth Cert., our daughter was born in a foreign country, yes, she was an American citizen, but since she wasn't born here, I was told three times, that if she were going to run for the presidency, she would have to become NATURALIZED, this was told to me by Immigration Services and other Gov't officials. Plus, she was subject to a draft, if a war was declared and she was in a country held by her birth country, she could be drafted. She was born in Great Britain. The issue here is, since he had an American Mother, was he ever Naturalized to entitled to run for the office of President of the United States?

Anyone who has lost a beloved family memeber should realize how difficult this type of visit is-politics or not! As a white american, I AM MUCH more impressed by Obama's character and his being able to represent the needs of the average american than a man who says he understands me and my finacial struggles--he's just not sure if 7 house is how many he owns!!! Further as a maverick and man for change he voted with the current president 90% of the time. Sorry, even with a masters degree and a medical degree, I can't figure out how that makes for a "maverick and man for change". Also if Palin became president (say if someone died of old age) we'd all be doomed--She is truely an IQ deficient female! Never mind her dubious grasp of ethical behavior as a public servant.

Palin has a special needs baby, and if that baby was ill and she needed to go home, I would still be on this blog wishing her well. Sometimes drop the politics and put on your human/compassion skin. I pray Obama's grandma gets 100% back to normal. She had to be strong to raise a biracial child...in those times in Hawaii.
