Singer James Taylor says the nation urgently needs the change offered by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Taylor frequently paused his concert in Raleigh on Tuesday to discuss the presidential race and North Carolina. He embarked
Sunday on a five-concert tour of the state to support Obama.
The singer of "Carolina in My Mind" said he was excited that North Carolina has become a battleground state. Taylor grew up in Chapel Hill.
Though North Carolina hasn't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1976, this year's race is too close to call. Not to
be outdone, Republican presidential nominee John McCain has been
bringing country star Hank Williams Jr. on the trail.
