NY Election Screw-Up: 'Osama' On The Ballot

Who is running for president? In an upstate New York county, hundreds of voters have been sent absentee ballots in which they could vote for "Barack Osama."

The absentee ballots sent to voters in Rensselaer County identified the two presidential candidates as "Barack Osama" and "John McCain." In the United States, the best-known person named Osama is Osama bin Laden, leader of the al-Qaida terrorist group.

Commissioners for the Rensselaer County Board of Elections say they regret the error but do not acknowledge in a statement exactly what the error is.

The botched ballots were first reported by the Times-Union of Albany.

Nicole - you're telling people to "learn the facts"? You should take a peek at some yourself. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was NOT created by Ronald Reagan. The money for it was donated by the wife of one of RR's former Ambassadors, who had already passed away. The CAC was one of many charities that she donated money to and she had no input regarding who was on the boards. You Dems are trying to negate the issue of Obama having close alliances with domestic terrorists by attaching RR's name to it. Furthermore, the so-called "education reform" failed to improve student performance at all and only served to promote Ayers' and Obama's political goals of ending free market capitalism and promoting the false promise of socialism. You want to pretend that Ayers was a bad guy 40 yrs. ago and is since just an educator. It was 2001 when he said he didn't bomb enough and posed for a picture standing on an American flag and Obama is lying about the closeness of their relationship.

There is no difference. A vote for Obama is the same as a vote for Osama.

This is NOT FUNNY, and, um...let's see...WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?!? OSAMA is a terrorist. OBAMA is an AMERICAN who has devoted his life to serving his country. Disagreeing with his political views does NOT give you the right to question his citizenship or devotion to this country. He is a Christian, American success story. The Ayers story is propoganda at BEST! Obama was 8 years old when Ayers committed his crimes. They were both on an EDUCATIONAL BOARD which, incidentally, also included an NUMBER OF REPUBLICANS and was created by RONALD REAGAN. If this is an issue, than the Grand Old Republican Party (including the great Ronald Reagan)is just as GUILTY. Stop buying into intolerance and lies and LEARN THE FACTS!! You don't have to vote for him, but you and the extremists at Palin rallies have NO RIGHT to accuse him of Treason or call him UNAMERICAN. You are putting someone's safety at risk because you want your candidate to win...SHAME ON ALL OF YOU FOR STOOPING TO SUCH LOWS.

This just tickles me! I love it! I don't really care anyone's personal opinion regarding this mishap. I just know that it surely made my Friday afternoon. That's the truth & I'm being honest!!!!!!! Hooray to whoever created the error!
