2 NC Lawmakers On Capitol Hill Fighting I-95 Toll

Keeping you moving on I-95 and money in your pocket is the goal of legislation proposed by a couple of North Carolina members of congress.

The state is exploring tolls on the interstate, but representative Renee Ellmers and 3rd district congressman Walter Jones are hoping to stop that, saying residents are already taxed enough. The lawmakers introduced a bill "No Tolls in North Carolina Act of 2012" to prevent the Federal Highway Administration from approving a pilot program that would add tolls in order to pay for its expansion. They say our highways need to be updated, but residents shouldn't bear the burden. Congressman G.K. Butterfield says he opposes the legislation.
