Elizabeth Edwards is continuing her health care advocacy with an appearance before a U.S. House committee assessing the need for reform.
The wife of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards will appear before the Committee on Energy and Commerce's subcommittee on health Thursday. Other witnesses include New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine.
Edwards this week made her first public speech since her husband publicly acknowledged that he had an extramarital affair with a woman hired to produce videos of him in 2006. She has not spoken about the infidelity except through a brief statement. Her Tuesday talk at the National Constitution Center focused solely on health care.
Edwards was first diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and is now battling an incurable form.
