In Defense, Dole Ad Decries 'Fibber Kay'

Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole is airing a new television ad defending herself from attacks that she's ineffective.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has aired several ads aggressively trying to drag down Dole's poll numbers. The group is independent but supports Democratic challenger Kay Hagan.

Dole's 30-second ad tries to tie Hagan to those spots. The ad says "they call her 'fibber Kay' Hagan," though it's unclear who "they" are. A Google search for "fibber Kay" turned up no results on the term Wednesday. A spokesman for Dole said it's a common refrain on the campaign trail.

The parties and the candidates have already spent millions of dollars on ad time for increasingly aggressive ads. Both sides are trying to gain a polling advantage in one of the nation's most watched Senate races.

Let me be the first to say that these ads that the "out of towner" action groups are paying for is yet another example of loopholes that occur after every "serious" reform of campaign contributions are "effected". Hagan is well aware of the ads and condones them very happily. Those two old codgers in the rockers are a "riot". AND I know where the "survey" that is referred to in that ad originates. Michael Moore and his ilk is alive and well in NC politics.
