McCrory Campaign Asks TV Stations To Stop Ad

GOP gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory's campaign is asking North Carolina television stations to stop running an advertisement from an independent political group that targets him.

In a letter released Friday, the campaign's lawyer asks
television stations to stop running an ad that was paid for by the
Alliance for North Carolina, a 527 group. He said the ad makes
false claims.

The 30-second spot began running Thursday. It says McCrory
supports pay raises for politicians, including himself.

But in the letter to TV stations, the McCrory campaign says
elements in the ad are either false or made in disregard of the
truth. The letter says the campaign wants stations to stop running
the ad so the campaign doesn't have to take the issue to court.
