Obama Claims Democratic Presidential Nomination

Illinois Senator Barrack Obama is the projected presumptive Democratic nominee for President.

Obama clinches the nomination following primaries in South Dakota and Montana where he will pick up enough delegates to secure the nomination.

The presumptive presidential nominee will address supporters in St. Paul, Minnesota -- in the same hall where Republican John McCain is expected to claim his party's nomination in September.

Aides to Hillary Rodham Clinton say she isn't formally dropping out of the campaign race yet. Clinton told colleagues she would consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate, and advisers say she wants to use her remaining leverage to press for a spot on the ticket.

Has anyone ever heard of the 200 mpg carburetor? yes mpGALLON.It existed and was tried on military vehicles and a few others. But due to political reasons it was swept under the big political rug. That hasn't changed today and until people start walking and stop buying gas, Alternative sources of energy will remain out of reach of most american citizens. I heard Bill mentioned it somewhere (radio?)but was "cut off". hmmmm

There are 200 Million barrels of oil off the US East and West coast. We have moer coal in this country than we know what to do with. The coal can be turned to oil (developed in the 1920 in Germany) and burn relativily clean. The governerof Alaska is suing the Govenemnt because they put the polar bear in the endagered species list...there are more polar bears now than there has ever been. It is liberal SPECIAL INTERSTEST that would rather see the world suffer than acheive indepenence. Obama in in bed with these special intrest that the oil problem is not going away becuase he will not be willing open up the markets. We have our own rescources we are just not allow to go after them...that anit changing with Obama...only gets worse. Do blame Bush for this mess. Take the shades off and look at the liberal policies. And yes wwe ned to explore alternative fuels but those are years away. We might not be around to see them come. It is a matter of National security

To gvill...Right on. Republicans in congress voted 98% to drill, and the Democrats voted 86% against. There lies the problem. The Democratic governor of Montana said their are more than 60 billion barrels of oil in Montana. He is for drilling as long as the federal government doesn't get involved. What do say about that?

To Obama o8: I understand your pain filling up at he gas pump and paying for groceries, but how is Obama going to fix this. Put a windfall tax on gas companies? That is going to make the problem worse. This was tries in the 70's and this is the reason we are in such a mess now. If the liberals would let us drill we might stand a chance. The people in Europe are finally starting to realize this. I am much more for saving the country and the world, than saving a Polar Bear. The only thing I hear from Obama is the same empty promises.

To OBAMA 08...That proves my point..EDUCATED BABY BOOMER..My wife is a retired educator,in NC, and her first job paid $4000 per year. We moved from NC to California,in 1970,with $70.00 to our name. We struggled and survived. The BABY BOOMERS need a dose of reality. FREEDOM isn't FREE.. Everyone needs to pull their own load. We have too many AMERICANS who sit back and whine, and do nothing for the sake of mankind. Blame the Governor of NC for low teacher pay not BUSH. Blame a high NC sales tax on the Governor of NC not BUSH. Blame the LIBERAL judges who release criminals back in society not BUSH. Blame poor parenting and a total lack of discipline in our society not BUSH. This war started in 1979 when CARTER removed the Shah of Iran for these religious "nut cases". We need to finish what we started. You build peace through strength not weakness. I was born in 1943, so I've seen the GOOD, BAD and the UGLY. Don't forget part of your pay is going to people who refuse to get educated.

To Alex...OBAMA has accomplished the following: 1)Shown AMERICANS what SOCIALISM is 2)The definition of redistribution of wealth 3)Corruption in Chicago politics 4) Disdain for the Armed Forces 5) The difference between EDUCATE and PROCREATE and how to support them 6) How our LIBERAL college professors indoctinate our youth 7) The difference between STYLE and SUBSTANCE 8) Beware of who you hang with 9) What the country will look like based on San Francisco values and 10) How little people know about the workings of our government. OBAMA is nothing more than an empty suit. Wake up AMERICA!!!!

I am an educated baby boomer, and when I see Obama, I see an American. I have been a teacher, and have traveled as I grew up as well, living in a variety of cultures...Muslim and Christian. My roots are in America, and many of us are just ready for leadership, of a good candidate. I am registered Democrat, but my beliefs are motivaated by choosing non violence, and what our country was founded on. We are one nation under God. We want peace, a strong America back. When I fill up with gas, go to the grocery store, or pay bills now, it hurts. As a state employee and teacher, I don't make a lot of money to have anything to fall back on...We need to have a better life, for spending a life of hard work...and the past 7-8 years with Bush have been the worst I can remember.

I am as right wing as you can get and i would vote for condi Rice in a heart beat. Its not that obama is black its that he is a liberal socialist. He and Jimmy Carter thinks that if we're nice to the terrorists, they will like us. Obama has stated that he thinks we should talk to the nut job leading Iran. Mark my words, if Obama wins, and Israel bombs Irans nuke facilities, obama will denounce Israel. That will be the beginning of the end.
