There will be at least one local run-off election June 24th.
State Senate District 5 candidate Kathy Taft says today she'll request a run-off for the Democratic primary.
Taft finished second place with 24% of Tuesday's vote. Snow Hill Mayor Don Davis had the most votes with just under 36% of the total. In a primary, candidates can request a run-off when the top vote getter fails to receive at least 40% of the vote.
The 5th District includes Greene County and parts of Pitt and Wayne counties.
