Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is getting a boost from a top military retiree.
Former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Hugh Shelton said today at a rally in Fayetteville that Clinton would help return the United States to its place as a world leader.
Shelton also is an Edgecombe County native and a former commander of Fort Bragg.
The retired general says Clinton understands the needs of the military as well as the need for the nation to have a strong economy.
Clinton plans to campaign tonight in Asheville and tomorrow has a stop in Jacksonville.
WITN will have team coverage of Clinton's Jacksonville visit. Live coverage begins at 5:00 a.m. on WITN News at Sunrise. The speech itself will be carried live in WITN-TV and witntv.com.
