Obama Plans To Come To Greenville, Hold Town Meetings

Senator Barack Obama will return to North Carolina on Thursday, April 17 to focus on economic issues facing hardworking families.

Senator Obama will hold a town hall meeting in the Triangle area followed by an event in Greenville Thursday evening.

Logistical and ticketing information will be announced later this week.

The Obama campaign will invite voters from across eastern North Carolina to take part in Senator Obama’s Greenville event by distributing tickets across the region, from Wilmington to Elizabeth City.

The announcement of Thursday’s trip builds on the release yesterday of Senator Obama’s economic plan for North Carolina – a detailed, 47-page book including proposals to eliminate unfair tax loopholes for companies that move North Carolina jobs overseas, relief for homeowners hit by the housing crisis, a middle class tax cut that will benefit four million North Carolinians, and other investments to strengthen the economy.

Senator Obama is also inviting North Carolinians to attend a “North Carolina Economic Forum” on Tuesday evening – inviting North Carolinians to come together at house parties and meetings around the state to learn about his plan for the economy and discuss his ideas with their friends and neighbors.

Attendees will get a copy of his economic plan, and get a briefing from his top economic advisors. Further details will be announced tomorrow.
