Elizabeth Edwards is joining the Center for American Progress as a senior fellow to focus on health care issues.
The wife of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said in a statement the position will give her the chance to continue to advocate for universal and quality health care.
Edwards will write a blog about policy issues on the center's Web site and host policy forums.
John Podesta, former President Clinton's chief of staff, serves as the president of the nonprofit think tank. Neither John nor Elizabeth Edwards have endorsed a presidential candidate since dropping from the race at the end of January.
