Hunt, Hagan On Convention Stage On Night 2

North Carolina's most prominent Democrat says Barack Obama "is a great education president who is rebuilding America" and should be elected president.

Former four-term Gov. Jim Hunt spoke to the crowd Wednesday evening at the Democratic National Convention. He's the latest of several North Carolina Democrats to address the delegates this week at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Hunt served as governor from 1977 to 1985, then returned to the Executive Mansion from 1993 until 2001. He is now an attorney at a Raleigh law firm and continues to host an annual forum at his alma mater, North Carolina State University.

North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan also took the stage Wednesday with other female U.S. senators. Gov. Beverly Perdue and Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx spoke at the convention Tuesday night.
