John Edwards' Federal Trial Scheduled For April

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- The federal trial of former presidential candidate John Edwards is now scheduled to begin in April.

U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Eagles ruled Thursday in Greensboro that jury selection will begin April 12, with the presentation of evidence to start April 23. Eagles expects the trial to last about six weeks.

A planned January start date was delayed while Edwards was treated for a heart condition. Eagles says his health problems are now manageable.

Eagles also heard arguments over whether expected testimony by former Edwards aide Andrew Young and others should be admissible. Eagles said Tuesday she would make a decision on those issues during the trial.

Edwards has pleaded not guilty to conspiring to use campaign donations to hide his pregnant mistress during his unsuccessful 2008 presidential candidacy.

Because it is ILLEGAL - Webster and Wikipedia have a definition for that word, and then go Gov. and will explain what the terms are -- Ok he is not the first to do it - Jesse Jackson did it for years.

How does John Kerry feel, this guy was only a few votes away from being vice president of the united states. Just shows everybody how low the bar is set for our politicians. Vote wisely.

I have had to work with lawyers for 25 years and - remarkably their are some with integrity. Edwards has the money - and he is a bottom feeder, a simple term that we only use for the one's we do not like. He thinks in is egomaniac mind that he above the law. He will probably vacate this situation, just like Easley, just like Hunt, just like Perdue that came out of the same stable. Edwards is in the Clinton league of politics. I don't follow one side or the other b/c I think (and a little I know) that there is no division except for publicity. We argue about it while they are having a Scotch/Water after their debats........ in the same room - telling lies and swapping girlfriends.
