College Presidents Wary Of Obama Cost-Control Plan

Public university presidents facing ever-increasing state budget cuts are raising concerns about President Barack Obama's plan to force colleges and universities to contain tuition prices or face losing federal dollars.

Illinois State University President Al Bowman says the reality is that deficits in many public schools can't be easily overcome with simple modifications. Bowman says he's happy to hear Obama call for state-level support of public universities but adds that, given the decreases in state aid, tying federal support to tuition is a product of "fuzzy math."

Obama spelled out his proposal Friday at the University of Michigan.

Wonder if the staff who changes the oil/filter, air filter, tires, washes and otherwise maintains the president's fleet of limousines went to a college? Wonder if the staff who clean, take out the trash, replace the trash bags, vacuum, and maintain the D.C. buildings went to college? Wonder if the people who come in trucks and pick up all the White House garbage each week, went to college? How about the staff who trim the shrubs, mow the lawns, and tend the flowers? I'm sure his/Michelle's tailors, chefs, security officers, pilots, Chauffeurs, interns, speech writers, advisors, and administrative staff have some college. There are many jobs that don't demand a college education, and there are many college-educated people who need those skilled laborers to help them. See my point?

They should be 'wary' he has done NOTHING but make things worse since he has been in office! Maybe if he would stop going on constant vacations with his family he might get something done. Hey Obama! Stay at the White House and DO YOUR JOB.

I have a 'novel idea' about higher education. Not everyone needs to attend a college to learn a trade, and trades and skills run this country. Obama needs to consider that. He might have made it 'without any trade skills', but there are many, many people, both young and old, who could work CIRCLES around him any day. Even as these new laws take effect, remember, no one can take your knowledge or skills away from you; not even the almighty government.

That is how the feds control what they want to control by saying they will take away funding. Just more dictatorship, that will end up hurting the little people. But he never cared about the little people to start with, so why should he start now.

I'm guessing you are a democrat? Republicans would be few and far between to take anything coming out of Hollywood and trying to incorporate it into reality!!
