Communities in the east will have the chance to learn how they can make a difference for those struggling with poverty.
U.S. Department of Agriculture Officials will be hosting town hall forums to address poverty in the east, starting Wednesday in Greenville.
The forums are part of a national campaign launched by the USDA called StrikeForce, which launched in our state late March.
Members of the community and other guests, including community leaders and elected officials, are brought together to share ideas about alleviating poverty.
The meeting will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville.
Another forum is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at White Educational Center in Elizabeth City.
The public are welcomed to attend the forums.
For more information on the forums, you can contact Derlane Johnson at (919) 873-2033.
