Trump Drops Republican Party Registration In NY

Wealthy businessman Donald Trump has changed his voter registration in New York state from Republican to unaffiliated.

A spokesman for Trump says the businessman and television host changed his affiliation to preserve his option to seek the presidency in 2012.

Special Counsel Michael Cohen said Friday that Trump could enter the race if Republicans fail to nominate a candidate who can defeat President Barack Obama.

He said Trump probably would use his substantial wealth to even the playing field with Obama's re-election campaign.

Cohen said Trump's commitment to hosting TV's "The Apprentice" will keep him from doing anything until May, when the show's season wraps up.

He said Trump filed his voter registration paperwork Thursday.

I didn't know it was 2016 already...but you're right after 2016 Obama is done. He's still gonna win in 2012 though.

No matter who gets the nominee for the GOP???? Who said the GOP will have a nominee? From the rate they are going, no one from the GOP will be left by next summer. Everytime one of their front runners are kicked out, Obamas numbers go up. He will win by Default.

You guys just don't get it. You are not part of the equasion. You can whine and cry all you want, it will not be Obama in second term....manup and pull your pants up. He flew under Jimmy Carter months ago just like the other Bush and we all know how that turned out. You cannot have such a poor approval rating and survive, the other guy will get elected everytime. You voted for the worst president in history, you got what you wanted, now step asside for the next leader.

His approval rating is at 45%. Hardly poor given how terrible the approval rating of congress is in comparison. Factor in how terrible the economy is because of the Republicans refusing to work with Obama on economic policy and it's amazing that the country hasn't imploded due to the constant stupidity of the average republican voter.

congress? WE want them to show fiscal responsibilty, that is why we voted them in. We want him to force Obama to own to to being responsible after we are now 15 trillion in debt. The country is imploding...just ask anyone looking for a job and having to have extensions on their unemployment and we now owe 1 trillion dollars just to pay the interrest on the debt....which is still growing everyday....Where have you been?

To OSOC at 1:48..You posted; "congress? WE want them to show fiscal responsibility, that is why we voted them in" Now kindly explain to us why their approval rating is <11%? Do you seriously think we want MORE of these GOP CLowns? The only thing I can guess at is that that GOP Congress will not be around after 2012.

Simple, is Harry Reid still in congress? Can you tell us what party he is working for? Can you tell us why he has told the house he will not allow bills to pass the senate? He is the hold up, no man....we get it...you apparently do not pay attention.

You do know that Allah=God, they're the exact same thing. Allah means "The God" in Arabic. So next time you mock Allah, just know it's virtually no different than mocking what you refer to as God.

The God, means one, as it He who is above all. It is a simple saying that means the one true God. Allah is the exact samething as the Christian God. Zero difference. Same being for all general purposes.

Who cares what party affiliation Trump has. He's not qualified nor is he a legitimate candidate for the US president. If Trump really thinks he can win this he really is out of his mind... Obama can't wait for this to happen as it would virtually guarantee his reelection. Trump might get 10-12% of total votes, 90% of those from republicans and righ-leaning independent voters. I for one am hoping for substantial debates between Obama and Romney. Not in love with Romney right now but he is clearly the adult who is accomplished and don't have the baggage of the other GOP candidates. While Trump would probably add some kind of humor and color to the debates, this country (and the world) are in too much trouble for comedy time at the moment.
  • by Wally B on Dec 24, 2011 at 05:15 PM
They say that Trump has already burned his bridges with most independent voters by choosing to go full birther and pander to the far right wing of the GOP. That's true, and equally true is that the GOP has burned its bridges with most of us 99%ers.

FORGET POLITICS AND POLITICIANS....We need someone in office that knows how to run a business/country, not the same old politicians who have run our country into the ground. Trump could get this country turned around with his no nonsense approach and business style. I'm voting TRUMP in 2012, even if his name's not on the ballot.

I hope you are posting that while drunk on some spiked egg nog because no sober person would want Trump running this nation the way he has run his businesses. The man's business failures far outweigh his successes and his wealth comes from inherited wealth and real estate holdings........the man would be flat broke were it not for the fact that as an individual he lost very little $ in his failed business ventures due to corporate bankruptcies and a rarely was it his own personal $ going down the drain. Ask his business investors what they think about his business acumen.

Maybe getting some votes from the far right kenyan, socialist, communist, birther, obama derangement syndrome people is the best he can do, but he does love that attention.
