Arnold Schwarzenegger Movie Comeback On Hold

With scandal overtaking his life, Arnold Schwarzenegger is no longer saying "I'll be back" about his acting career. Instead, it's "hasta la vista, baby."

Schwarzenegger's recent revelation that he fathered a baby more than 10 years ago with a woman who'd worked for him and his wife, Maria Shriver, is the reason he's asked his talent agency to put all movie projects he'd had in the works, on hold. That's so he can focus on his personal life. Those projects include "Cry Macho" and "The Terminator" franchise.

It's a tabloid frenzy.

Scores of reporters, photographers and satellite TV trucks are outside a home in suburban Bakersfield, Calif. News crews are chasing unconfirmed reports that the home is that of the woman who is the mother of former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's child.

Her name surfaced as Mildred "Patty Baena" in several Internet reports. Schwarzenegger's office declined to discuss the woman.

A photo of the boy posted on the woman's Myspace page shows a fairly strong resemblance to Schwarzenegger, particularly when the actor-bodybuilder-politician was younger.

Schwarzenegger, who recently separated with his wife, Kennedy family heiress and former network journalist Maria Shriver, acknowledged Monday that he fathered a child with a former employee more than a decade ago.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, separated after Schwarzenegger revealed he had fathered a child with a member of their household staff.

The newspaper says the child was born more than a decade ago. Schwarzenegger issued a statement Monday explaining that he told Shriver about the child after he left the governor's office earlier this year.

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger did not immediately return a phone call and e-mail from The Associated Press early Tuesday. But in the statement to the Times, Schwarzenegger says, "There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused."

The couple announced in a joint statement May 9 that they had separated after 25 years of marriage.
