Winston-Salem Woman Charged In NY Slaying Not Indicted On Murder

A 42-year-old North Carolina woman initially charged in the shooting death of a woman in Niagara Falls won't be indicted on a murder charge.

According to the Buffalo News, (http://bit.ly/17UsksL ) Niagara County Judge Matthew Murphy said the grand jury chose to indict Cammesoa Williams on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon, not murder. The Winston-Salem resident was arrested along with her boyfriend in the shooting death of Tijuana Davis at the 39-year-old victim's apartment.

The newspaper reports that Williams' attorney Herbert L. Greenman successfully sought bail for his client.

Prosecutors said they couldn't discuss the indictment until an arraignment in a week.
