(NBC News) Autism Spectrum Disorder is a complicated condition in which children generally have impaired social and behavioral skills.
There is no known single cause and no cure.

The review of school and medical records represents a 30-percent increase from similar data two years ago.
There are better diagnostic tools and greater awareness, but no one clear reason for the rise.
