Mothers Now Top Earners In 4 In 10 US Households

The Pew Research Center is reporting a milestone in the changing face of modern families.

The group finds that a record 40 percent of households with children are primarily supported by working mothers.

The number was 11 percent in 1960. The Pew poll also finds that most Americans say the trend has made it harder for parents to raise children.
