Missing Maine Toddler's Blood Found In Father's Home

An official says some of the blood found in a Maine home where a missing toddler was last seen six weeks ago belonged to the little girl.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland said Saturday that the blood was found early in the investigation into Ayla Reynolds' disappearance from her father's Waterville home.

McCausland said Sunday that some of the blood found in the home belonged to Ayla. He declined to discuss how much blood was found, where exactly it was found or how long it might have been there.

Her father, Justin DiPietro, says Ayla was not in her bed when he checked on her the morning of Dec. 17.

A website run by Ayla's mother's family says that the despite the evidence, they are "more determined than ever to find out what has happened to Ayla" and are still clinging to the hope that she is alive.

I'm sure if someone searched my house with luminol, they would find traces of my kid's blood too--stumped toes, skinned knees, a ball hitting a nose thrown by a sibling--you never know, and I'm just saying, not giving the father some kinda excuse, if he actually had something to do with it. Kinda feel like he knows something he's not telling.

Most of those injuries happened to my child OUTSIDE the home; you must have a really big home. Plus, inside the home, most people wipe up and wash behind those 'incidents'.

I don't understand why this is just being announced six weeks later? In six weeks, the murderer could have cleaned it up, if he lived there. If he killed the child, just seems he would have sneaked down to the basement to try to cover it up, unless he's pretending not to know, or really didn't know. See, it's good to have all the facts before commenting. Nothing makes it okay for her, however.

And who didn't see this coming? Of course he had something to do with this little girl missing. He's the only ONE.
