At Colt's Gun and Pawn in Winterville business has tripled since the election. The same increase happened after the president's election in 2009. Owner Colt Page says customers are concerned the president will draw up a federal law to stop assault rifle sales and tax ammunition. An East Carolina University political science professor tells WITN it might be a tough law to get through congress and it is not a top priority right now for President Obama.

"He has advocated restoring the ban on assault rifles which lapsed, but it would be a legislative action through congress not something he could do unilaterally." said ECU political science professor Dr.. Bob Thompson.
