First New Hampshire Votes Yield Romney-Huntsman Tie

Voters in the tiny New Hampshire village famed for casting the first ballots in the nation's first presidential primary have found themselves in a tie between Republicans Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman.

Nine ballots were cast in New Hampshire's Dixville Notch just after midnight.

Romney and Huntsman received two votes each. Coming in second with one vote apiece were Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

For the Democrats, President Barack Obama received three votes.

The nine residents who cast their ballots include three registered Republicans and two registered Democrats. Four other voters haven't declared a party.

Dixville Notch is an unincorporated village in northern New Hampshire just below the Canadian border. The town clerk, Rick Erwin, says that the nine registered voters make up the entire Dixville Notch population.

Romney standing there bashing Europe and President Obama as socialist was quite remarkable. He had no problem with Europe, France to be exact when he left the U S and went there with all the socialist (his words, not mine) so he didn't have to serve his country. He made it pretty clear though when he told Jon Huntsman he was party first, country second. Quite a man Mitty, quite a man.

Romney gave the ugliest most vitriolic victory speech I have ever heard. Romney is a small minded man with NO ideas or empathy for the 99%.

The best description I have heard so far of what Romney did was "Vulture Capitalism". This had nothing to do with job creation, this had to do with generating a profit for share holders. They bought up businesses, threw out the workers (a lot from manufacturing jobs lost) and sold the pieces at a profit. And the jobs he created at Staples and others like it? Those employees are getting paid minimum wage for running registers and stocking shelves.

Try to spin it all you want Bar-low. Even if the DNC could convince Hillary to run with Obama, (and I doubt she is that ignorant) it is too late, he is DONE, FINISHED, KAPUT in 11 short months. Can't wait to read the headlines - "Republican candidate beats incumbant by a landslide, poor little entitlement babies crying as they lick their wounds with some poor fool named Barlow from Eastern NC leading the pack".

The poor little entitlement babies are actually the rich. They're the ones who want handouts; no new taxes (a handout) subsidies for their businesses (handouts) lobbying for their corporate interest (handouts) government welfare when they run their business into the groud (handout) and the list goes on. The rich are the entitlement generation.

LOL - you actually think it is the true "entitlement babies" that have all the money, well aren't you an IDIOT!! If that were true who would pay all the bills for this country the poor? Go back to 3rd grade, wealthy (who are largely democrat) people pay the largest majority of the bills for this country even if it might be a lower percentage of their personal income than the poor. You comment is both stupid and shows how misinformed a life you lead.

Judge Napolitano said tonight that we have one party of Big Government. The Dem. wing believes in war, taxes, and individual welfare. The Rep. wing believes in war, deficits, and corporate welfare. I believe he is a FOX man-right? I'm not afraid of all big government, but for you who CLAIM you don't like it-maybe you should think about what the Judge said!

Yes, he okd the debt ceiling based on the congress being controlled by the democrats and America wanted to protect our soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan. You know, the two wars that congress authorized...had to be paid for, however, Obama spent more than all past presidents combined including Bush 2...that is online and you should know that. And what does the Rich had to do anything with anything? They don't owe me anything? Did they beat you up and take away your lunch money when you were in high school last year?

More liberal spin, so sad to be you. Listen to the ENTIRE comment and put it in the proper context, if you know how, he was speaking of being able to fire health care providers not individuals. Now the poor loser democrats want to fire Biden and replace him with Hillary, that is how badly they all know that Obama is going to LOOSE!!! I hope she has enough pride and self respect to tell him she will run for president or nothing, if she was running for president I would have to reconsider my vote but as it is ANYBODY will be a much better commander in chief than the idiot we have in office now!!

And just where would someone else go for health insurance if they "fired" the one they had? Why don't you try it now? Health insurance companies were "firing" the customers! If competitive prices had existed, then there would have been no need at ALL for revision-it didn't! The insurance companies were price "fixing" and refusing to cover "pre-existing" conditions! I even had a friend whose baby was not covered because she was a premy and they called it "pre-existing"! What Romney said-even if you include the health insurance-shows just how little he knows about what the insurance companies were doing!! Go fire BC/BS and see how much "better insurance you can geat somewhere else!!

Well isn't that convenient, proven wrong so now you want to "just forget about what Romney said". That is the problem with every politician out there, republicans and democrats alike, they all lie, steal and cheat to get what they want and when caught we, the voters, are expected to just "forget about it". Well, I don't trust ANY of them as far as I could pick up and throw my vehicle, however, I have found that this particular administration has gone above and beyond expections in their outright lies, fabrications, class envy tactics and simply attempting to take away our individual as well as the individual states rights granted under the constitution. I always have and always will vote based on the candidate and their record, regardless of party affiliation. This time around, it will be anybody but Obama, he has been the worst president in my 50plus years by far!!!
