Police in Colorado say the search for a missing 10-year-old girl will continue after a body was found in a suburban Denver park seven miles from where the fifth-grader disappeared nearly a week ago.
Westminster police spokesman Trevor Materasso on Thursday provided no information about a body found in a park about seven miles from Jessica's home. The discovery was made late Wednesday.
Jessica's mother last saw her walking to school Friday. Police say the girl was abducted and never made it to school, setting off a frantic search by authorities and residents.
Westminster Police spokesperson Trevor Materasso did not release the gender or approximate age of the body.
Investigators removed what appeared to be a body from the scene just before 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
It is about seven miles southwest of Jessica's home and several miles south of where Jessica's backpack was found in Superior.
The FBI, which has been assisting with the investigation, said no other details will be discussed at this time.
Westminster Police plan to release more information at 6:30 a.m. Thursday during a live press conference.
