Clinton Urges United Nations For Action To End Violence In Syria

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is telling the Security Council that action to end the violence in Syria would be different from U.N. efforts to pacify Libya.

"I know that some members here may be concerned that the Security Council is headed toward another Libya," she said. "That is a false analogy."

Russia says it worries that a draft measure aimed at Syria, currently before the council, could lead to military action and regime change -- just as an Arab-backed U.N. resolution led to NATO airstrikes in Libya that allowed rebels to topple Moammar Gadhafi.

"It is time for the international community to put aside our own differences and send a clear message of support to the people of Syria," Clinton said Tuesday.

So, you democrats scream how Bush got us into wars that do not involve us, when they DO, we were attacked first on our home turf, yet you have no problem with sticking our nose in Syria's affairs that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with us. More hypocracy from the left, NO SURPRISE THERE!!!!

If it happens, and the USA is involved, she should pay the USA part out of her own pocket. I am tired of paying for us to break up civil wars in other countries. It is time to put the USA first.

The U.N. is an old toothless sleeping dog. Nothing will be done about Syria.

Most effective Secretary of State ever. Should be the VP in 2016 (Biden/Clinton). Doing her job instead of shopping for shoes during a crisis like Condi

You meant instead of buying expensive dresses like Ms Obamy. And while she's good at her job, she's no better than many others in the past. Only because she's a democrat right.....some people are so brainwashed.

Condi was out shopping while people were dying in New Orleans. Obviously, didn't think it was a very big deal, at least not compared to a new pair of shoes. I don't think you would see that kind of thing from either Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama.

Comrad Hillary is his hero like like all of his other comrads. He will find in 2012 that it will be a long time when democrats take over the whitehouse again...Hillary will be in a nursing home and Barlow will be giving her sponge baths.

She looks more like Denise Crosby, who played Tasha Yar on Star Trek TNG. But the Ellen similarity is spooky, too!
