A coroner's official says Whitney Houston was found in a hotel bathtub, but it'll take weeks to determine precisely how she died.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told reporters Sunday afternoon that police had requested that no details about Houston's autopsy be publicly released. He said toxicology results would take weeks and the results were needed to determine how Houston died in a room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday afternoon.

Winter declined to release any details about what investigators found in the room, but said coroner's officials were not ruling out any potential causes of death.

He said there were no signs of trauma on Houston's body.

The singer died Saturday at the age of 48.

Some media outlets are reporting bottles of pills were found in her Beverly Hilton hotel room but also report none of the drugs were illegal.

Reports suggest she may have been asleep or unconscious and drowned in the bathtub.

TMZ.com is reporting four of Houston's staff members were in her hotel room when they became concerned that Houston had been in the bathroom for more than an hour, and that it was time for her to start getting ready for a pre-Grammy party.

TMZ.com is reporting Houston's stylist went in to find Houston's face underwater, and that her staff pulled her from the bathtub and attempted CPR to no avail.

TMZ.com is reporting Houston had been drinking the night before her death.

Houston had suffered from addiction and had been to rehab multiple times.

At her peak in the 1980s and ’90s, Houston was the golden girl of the music industry and one of the world’s best-selling artists.

Among her hits were “How Will I Know,” “Saving All My Love for You” and “I Will Always Love You.” She won multiple Grammys including album and record of the year.

Her success carried her beyond music to movies like “The Bodyguard.”

But by the end of her career, drug use took its toll as her record sales plummeted and her voice became raspy and hoarse.

Houston will also be honored in a tribute at Sunday's Grammys.
