A 32-year-old urban radio and TV personality was shot to death outside his Staten Island home in what police believe was a robbery attempt.
Radio and BET Television segment host DJ Megatron was shot while heading to a store near his house around two o'clock Sunday morning.
Police say the actor and DJ, born Corey McGriff, was found dead with a gunshot wound to his chest just a few doors down from his home. Investigators believe McGriff was talking on his telephone and may have been distracted just before the shooting.
McGriff worked for several hip-hop and R & B radio stations before becoming a regular figure on BET.
No arrests have been made.
