An American military helicopter raid into Somalia has freed an American and a Dane who were held hostage by pirates since October.
A U.S. official says the Navy SEAL team who freed the hostages was the same that killed Osama bin Laden.
The overnight raid by at least two U.S. helicopters resulted in a shootout that killed 9 Somalian pirates in Mogadishu, Somalia and ended with the freeing of the two hostages.
According to Western officials, Dane Poul Hagan Thisted and American Jessica Buchanan, had been working with a demining unit of the Danish Refugee Council when they were taken hostage in October.
Both were found in good condition and neither were injured during the raid. Buchanan is said to be from Virginia.
