Children's Medicine Recall Expands

The huge recall of children's pain relievers and allergy products has expanded.

Four PediaCare products have been added to the list, including multi-symptom cold, long-acting cough, decongestant and allergy & cold.

Blacksmith Brands issued the voluntarily recall as a precaution because they were made at the same Pennsylvania plant where Johnson & Johnson's liquid Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and Zyrtec were made.

The Food and Drug Administration had found quality control problems at the plant during inspections. There have been no problems linked to the PediaCare products.

Blacksmith says it will produce new lots of the medicine at other plants.

You can take it back, but you won't get your money back. I called and talked to our pharmacist and was advised to throw it away and if I wanted a refund to contact the company--in my case it was Tylenol. I sent an email and approximately 2 weeks later I got a check in the mail.

A Recall means, you take it back and get your money back. Don't just throw it out.

This is the THIRD recall in just a few months of various types of children's medicine. Every time I read the news I have to go BACK to my medicine cabinet and throw everything away AGAIN!!!
