Immigration Protests

Rallies in Phoenix are drawing people from out of state who both support and oppose the state's new law targeting illegal immigration.

Opponents of the law are busing in protesters from around the country for a march Saturday morning on the state Capitol. Organizers say the demonstration could bring in as many as 50,000 people.

The Phoenix Police Department will have extra officers on duty along the route of the 5-mile march planned by the law's protesters.

Supporters plan a rally of their own that could draw thousands to a Tempe baseball stadium Saturday afternoon. They're encouraging like-minded Americans to "buycott" Arizona by planning vacations in the state.

Dixiegirl, Republicans tried to have e-verify included in the wording for the huge spending bill President Obama passed in early 2009. This would require employers getting the money from the government to check prosepective employees to ensure they were citizens before hiring them. Democrats had this requirement ripped from the bill, though. Gotta get those votes, baby! Gotta keep illegals happy so when they ram through amnesty they can GET MORE VOTES.

I hear the statement that "they are being hired to do jobs americans won't do" and when I see them they are mowing grass and blowing the grass into the streets for businsses. Back in the day the employees of the businesses completed those tasks and "kids" mowed grass for little of nothing. Go back to using your own employees and local kids and give back to the stinking community... When I was young I made the money farming and spent every last dollar of it in the community I grew up in!! I didn't send any of it to a third world country south of the border!!!

Who is hiring these illegals anyway? I think they need to be punished as well. I don't see anyone cracking down on the employers who have created the problem.

Funny how they start calling themselves immigrants. They are to be politcally correct ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT's. Mexico sends them here to save money that why Mexico is in an up roar. Simply put if you are standing on a street corner with a TV set nobody can ask you a question because it would fall under pfofiling of a possible thief? Other countries do it all the time maybe we need too. Get the country back on track! Immigration laws are already on the books, they just need to be enforced!

All this wouldn't be necessay if the Feds would do their jobs in controlling the border. This has gone on far too long and has been the responsibility of BOTH political parties. If the Feds can't or won't do it then it's up to the states. Those who don't like it can go back to their homeland.
