GIG HARBOR, Wash. -- A sheriff's deputy who fatally shot his wife's parents has been found dead in his Gig Harbor, Wash., home after an hours-long standoff.
Police say SWAT team members found the body of 49-year-old Allen Myron after they entered the house early Saturday morning.
The standoff began about 6:30 p.m. Friday after Myron allegedly shot his in-laws and then barricaded himself in the home with two of his children.
The children managed to get out safely during the early hours of the siege.
Tacoma police Detective Gretchen Aguirre says she still doesn't have any details on how Myron died or what prompted the SWAT team to go into the home when it did.
It also wasn't immediate clear what touched off the violence.
