Health Care Challenge

The National Federation of Independent Business is joining a federal lawsuit filed in Florida by 20 state attorneys general and governors against the health care overhaul.

The nation's most influential small business lobby is joining a court challenge that argues that Americans cannot be required under the Constitution to obtain insurance coverage.

All but one of the state attorneys general are Republicans, and the case coincides with an election year.

With 350,000 members, the NFIB boasts a far-reaching network of local activists.

One of its pillars of the new health care law is the requirement, effective in 2014, that most Americans carry health insurance.

The Obama administration argues that the coverage requirements rest on a solid constitutional foundation: the power of Congress to regulate interstate commerce.

NOFreebies, I checked it out, thanks, it comes down to one thing, if you stay on party lines in NC, you will fall on those same party lines come re election time. Right now, if you have a D connected to your title, be very concerned this go around. This terd bill passed straight across party lines only. If it truly had transparence, at least some republicans and didn't have to happen in a hurry, maybe. I just know it smells real bad.....its not healthcare, its the road to socialism.

To Obama Snake oil - My understanding is that NC attorney general Roy Cooper has stated that NC will not join the lawsuit as he believes the rule is lawful and that congress has the authority to control interstate trade. WHAT A BAFOON!! Also, our govenor "Mrs. tax them to death" Perdue, agrees with him. Google Roy Cooper and healthcare bill, you'll find lots of articles regarding where they stand on the issue.
