Burr Defeats GOP Challengers

North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr has defeated three Republican primary opponents.

Unofficial results from Tuesday's election showed the GOP lawmaker with 80 percent of the vote. Burr beat Eddie Burks of Asheboro, Brad Jones of Lake Toxaway and Larry Linney of Charlotte. Each of them had less than 10 percent of the vote.

Burr is seeking a second term in the Senate. He previously spent a decade in the House.
