Terrorism Charges Brought Against Times Square Bombing Suspect

Authorities have brought terrorism and mass destruction charges against the suspect in the failed Times Square car bombing, saying he has confessed to receiving explosives training in Pakistan.

Charges against Faisal Shahzad, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Pakistan, were contained in a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan. Shahzad was arrested overnight as he attempted to leave the country on a flight.

The complaint says he confessed to buying an SUV, rigging it with a homemade bomb and driving it Saturday night into Times Square, where he tried to detonate it.

The complaint says he admitted to receiving bomb-making training in Waziristan, Pakistan, but there is no mention of al-Qaida.

Lavon, Comrade Obama did not stop this terrorist, the bomb just didn't work properly and the terrorist almost got a way. When you make statements like you did @ 5:30 May 4, it makes laughable.

Ridiculous, agree with you on the concentration camp part. Americans in this forum are everyday people who are tired of Islamic terrorist, oops, can't use that word according to Comrade Obama. Each day many wonder "is it going to happen today" as we darn know well it will happen because we have to worry about others' feelings or their "rights" if we use profiling. Anyway we slice or dice it, we are at WAR. Americans (won't use the word citizens as not all citizens are Americans) are not insane, they're just pissed & want everything in our arsenal to be used in the most effective way which should include a total overhaul of the naturalization process when it comes to granting citizenship to any all persons from any muslim country. We can't stick our heads in the sand & pretend it will all go away because we live in the NOW. I do agree that terrorists come in all shades but let's not wear blinders and fail to see the whole picture. It is what it is.

Obama Snake Oil Co: If they wanted media coverage-they succeeded. You got me there. Ridiculous: I think you have a point about the direction in which this commentary is headed. I agree: A terrorist is a terrorist. From what I've read so far (and from now on), don't be a Muslim with steam coming from your radiator. Like I said, this guy ruins it for the good guys because even he had no prior record of any kind. What's worse, the media has announced that he came from a good family. I'm not an expert but I think we were lucky that he had inferior "training," if any at all. For those of you arguing about "whose watch," is this even relevant? I still don't picture my neighbors deciding that they hate working at the hospital, hate driving $100K cars, and hate living in a mini mansion. The aren't the best examples of people who hate freedom...

Some of the reasoning of you people is pure insane. Through all the barking and biting and slinging and name calling and all out hysteria, you folks, not all, but a good portion of you in here posting are so full of it, thank GOD you are a minority. It doesnt matter who tries to bomb us, they are a terrorist. If they were white and American and did it, TERRORIST. If they were black and American and did it, TERRORIST. I think the generalization that all muslims are evil is pure swill and it goes back to the days of ill-educated rationalizations and nazi like thinking. What do you want to do, throw them all in a concentration camp and burn them like Hitler? All of them no matter whether they threaten us or not? That is what several of you are virtually saying. You don't know who is and who isnt and what color their skin is or isnt. You folks rationalize NOTHING in your posts but stereotypical bunk. The day is coming where you will be totally OFF on your assumptions.

Man, I know it broke Eric Holder's racist, liberal heart to have to get up there and say a muslim did this when he had such hope, if only for a short while, that it was a white seperatist or militia member. I know the media misses Bush right now, too. They can't rip President Obama apart on this and the oil spill like they could if Bush was still in. Only one station, out of thousands, will do that. Only one. Be of good cheer, though, Dems. I'm sure that eventually the law of percentages will take over and since white males make up a large percentage of the country one of them will do some sort of terrorist act. Then you'll be able to go on a feeding frenzy and actually believe your leaders and the liberal media about the Tea Party being dangerous and all of that nonsense.

Greg, put a sock in it, they were after Southpark writers for presenting Mohummed. The intent was media coverage and mayhem. They don't don't care for you, they want you dead. Do you not get it or is denial your trait? Lavon...again, bless your pumkin heart, the FBI foiled this at a cost of being accused of racial profiling. Why? Your party wanted to go after the FBI for the "Bush years" that had nothing to do with Bush, it had to do with intelligence. Pelosi...your main gal was in the spotlight wanting the CIA and FBI prosecuted for waterboarding. Do you have a short memory or is it denial? Cactus, just remember, Lavon is an Obama voter...you know, uninformed, drinks the koolaid...isn't that scary that so many have no clue what went on? Jessssss, and he had the right to vote...does he watch the news or get it on the street? I think his preacher is Jim Jones....

Cactus, you sure got Lavon straight on his Obama comment, why didn't you correct him on his comment about Bush?, Care to try?

lavon, 9/11 was 5 years in the making. uhh, clinton was in office!! 9/11 wasn't planned in 8 months of bush being in office!! obama didn't stop any of this. the terrorist's plan went as expected.it just happened to fizzle out and did not blow up. read the story, he was caught after the fact and almost got away while the feds were tracking him using the patriot act tactics [which kept us safe from any of this for 8 years] of tapping his phone.obumo has had 3 attacks attached to his 1 and 1/2 years in office. i think u r someone who hides behind a name like 'lavon' to worry people on here. because i just don't believe that there is someone that ignorant out there other than in D.C.

Lavon, when are you going to get your facts correct, the dear leader obama did not stop anything, "it was a US citizen" not the current resident (soon to be replaced) of the white house. Now remember to pay those obama taxes.
