Toyota says it will recall its 2010 Lexus GX 460 to address a potential problem with the SUV's stability control system that targets possible rollovers.

The recall affects about 9,400 vehicles that have been sold since the SUV went on sale in late December. Consumer Reports issued a "Don't Buy" warning last week on the 2010 GX 460, saying it was susceptible to rolling over.

Toyota says dealers will update software in the vehicle stability control system. Toyota already had halted sales of new GX 460s and begun tests on all of its SUVs.

The automaker also agreed to pay a record $16.4 million fine on Monday for failing to properly report a safety problem with defective gas pedals.

The only american SUV that ever had this issue was the ford explorer they blamed on the tires. It wasn't the tires either as much as the drivers reaction causing the problems. The worst SUV for roll overs was the isuzu troopers.

I'm curious now where the money collected from the fines will be spent. I'm old fashioned but I still think it is patriotic to buy products made by American companies such as Ford Motor Co. I'm glad Ford didn't accept Gov't bailout money too.

Toyota should pack up and go back to the land of the rising sun. We fought a war with them losing thousands of lives and billions of dollars only to make them one of the richest countries in the world buying their cars, seems stupid to me.
