Budget Problems Send Senate Health Care Bill Back To House

A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says the bill making changes in President Barack Obama's newly enacted health care overhaul will have to go back to the House for final congressional approval, something top Democrats were trying to avoid.

Spokesman Jim Manley said Republicans consulting with the Senate parliamentarian had found "two minor provisions" that violate budget rules. The two provisions, dealing with Pell grants for low-income college students, will have to be removed from the bill.

Once those provisions are deleted and the Senate passes the measure, the House will have to approve the legislation before sending it to Obama for his signature. Manley said he was confident the House would do so with no problems.

Barlow, please remain seated in class, unless you've read the whole book and can stand up respectfully in front of the class to recite the truth. If you act out one more time, I'm sending you to detention hall and telling your parents!!!! Barlow, son, you have to know the truth and show the facts before casting judgment. You're not a 6th grader anymore.

Public Health #1, you are absolutely correct. What the feds did is put into law, the equivalent systems that they have in northern states. I guess NCs government isn't as generous as NYC. Well, to level the playing field so industries would go there, they just threw the burden to the states to collect and payout the same as NYC. All states must follow the same mandates. However, they in congress are exempt from the same plan as you and me...what does that tell you?

M, have you ever gone to the emergency room or doctors office? Are you aware what co-pay those on welfare have for these services? They pay NOTHING when they go the ER and $6 when they go the doctors office. I have to pay $150 to go the ER and $25 to see my doctor. Is there fairness there? The new health care bill will force states to put those 30 million on medicaid, who pays for it, you and I in higher STATE taxes, thats right M, the states are required to cover a portion of Medicaid services. Your democratic congress members didn't divulge that to you or the public did they? Our Congress sticks it to us...again.

You wouldn't understand if someone that has read the bill explained it to you anyways. Everyone has their mind made up on what they think is best for the whole.

M, It just floored me to hear you suggest that Americans dont care for others, name just one country as charitable as the USA ! You as most others who support this bill seem to miss the point many of us are upset about, we are tired of being stolen from (taxes) and handing it to freeloaders, note I said freeloaders not people truly in need. If you want or need something get it YOURSELF. No healthy capable minded person has the right to steal (govt handouts stolen from WORKERS) to make a living. The bible nor the constitution, the 2 things this country was founded on, says anywhere in them about free healthcare etc. I not saying dont help people who are contributors to the SYSTEM, Im saying no one individual is entitled to healthcare. Why dont all you liberals set-up funds to hand out your own money and leave mine alone, that is whats left after TAXES. BTW the majority, MAJORITY, mean anything ? dont want this bill.

Mike from Greenville, All the items of the bill you mentioned sound great on paper, don't they? I have family in Canada and Europe that have the same wonderful socialist healthcare. Why don't you ask these people in socialist healthcare countries about the months of waiting for life saving tests, procedures, etc. Ask them about the decisions not to provide care when their government feels it costs too much. Ask them about the taxes to pay for these wonderful items and how much is left over while they pay for everyone that no longer needs to work. Ask them why they long for the healthcare we have in the states. Do we have healthcare issues, absolutely!Start with tort reform and cleaning up welfare abuse, then we may have a chance to make things better. Take off your rose colored glasses and look at the total bill.
