Whale Sushi Sting

Federal prosecutors said Wednesday they plan to file charges against The Hump restaurant in Santa Monica for violating the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

Two undercover diners working with the producers of the Oscar-winning documentary "The Cove" requested whale as part of a $600 omakase, or chef's choice, meal. They pocketed a sample, and genetic testing confirmed that it was meat from the endangered Sei whale.

Messages left for an attorney for The Hump were not immediately returned Wednesday.

Bubba's right. (I like the way you paraphrased that, by the way. Most don't "get it".) It gets old hearing people go to OT scriptures and forget the NT and that one is foundational, not final. We even have the statement that the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife (in other words, unequally yoked is not a reason for divorce).. and these teachings are related. You should pray over your food and bless it anyway, considering what food is like these days. If you consider the lack of sanitation and understanding of many things dietarily in OT times, and in that region, you will understand WHY the Hassidic guidelines were what they were (within which it was/is still only about specific seafoods, not all of them). Modern nutritional knowledge is that seafood is healthy, it just has to be the RIGHT seafood. That said, this story is purely about the breaking of a protection law - and we KNOW that unlawful behavior is condemned in both the OT and the NT. Glad they got busted.

I believe the Old Testament does cover that, be Jesus said it's more important what comes out of one's mouth instead of what goes into it. By the way, Jesus fed the multitutes with two fish, not two chickens.

Doesn't the bible condemn eating bottom feeders; which is primarily sea food. Shrimp, catfish, etc. Why aren't you Christians doing something to shut down all seafood restaurants??
