Pittsburgh police say the 22-year-old man had been celebrating a friend's birthday Saturday night. Detective Christine Williams says the friends "likely drank too much."
The man was found Sunday afternoon by one of the friend's roommates at the Pi Kappa Alpha house. He was a student at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, about 30 miles southeast of Carnegie Mellon. His cause of death hasn't been determined.
Carnegie Mellon is a top-ranked university recognized for its arts and technology programs. It has more than 11,000 students and 4,000 faculty and staff. It hasn't responded to telephone and e-mail messages seeking comment on the man's death.
Police haven't released the man's identity because his parents haven't been notified.
