U.S. Rep. Howard Coble apparently fainted during a meeting in his North Carolina district and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Multiple media outlets reported that the 78-year-old Republican lawmaker was speaking at a Rotary Club of High Point meeting on Thursday.
Chief of Staff Ed McDonald said Coble appears to have fainted and hit his head on a wall. He had been speaking with people in a banquet room of the High Point Country Club.
A man attending the meeting said Coble regained consciousness within moments. The 13-term congressman representing the 6th District was taken by ambulance to High Point Regional Hospital.
