Gunman Opens Fire At Church, Wounds Two Teens

A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt walked into a San Francisco Bay area church and opened fire during a Sunday service, wounding two teenagers, police said.

Two other men, also wearing hooded sweatshirts, were with the gunman when the shooting took place at about 12:30 p.m. in front of about 100 people at New Gethsemane Church in Christ in Richmond, police Sgt. Bisa French said.

A 14-year-old boy was hit in the shoulder and a 19-year-old man was struck in the leg, she said. Both victims, whose name haven't been released, were hospitalized and were expected to survive. There were no other injuries.

The three men fled and no suspects have been arrested, French said.

Investigators believe the gunmen were targeting someone in the church but don't know if the two who were hit were the intended targets, French said.

"If it wasn't the victims that were hit, it was somebody near them," she said.

Richmond is an East Bay city of about 100,000 people north of Oakland and Berkeley. No one answered Sunday afternoon at a telephone number listed for the church.

Here is how to handle all this bull manure.Every man and woman should have a gun on them at all times. On their hip or hidden where ever part of their body they want to hide. This WILL Discourage these low life simians.DAVE at 5:26,there will be NO PATH of resistence if this happened. It would install fear which would make the majority(not all) of the low life simians(MAYBE) think a little harder. If the fear is not put it in them then thats when you UNLOAD on their FESTERING CARCASSES!THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS!

Exactly Jethro.....All 3 were "gun free" zones. People should avoid all stores that are "gun free". You are more likely to be attacked. Criminals will always head for the path of least resistence.

Just another point: Look at the stories on here... at a HS basketball game, at the hospital, now a church....what do I need to say?

A "gun free" zone in a "gun free" city in a virtual "gun free" state. Of course that is "gun free" if you are a law abiding citizen. Wake up people. Violence against women and children are being promoted by the liberal Dems.

Now the liberals in San Francisco will be screaming for more gun control, which will do absolutely nothing to prevent episodes like this. California needs to pass legislation (as have many states) that would permit law-abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms. Blowing away a few of these nuts who open fire on innocent victims would do a lot to deter the next idiot who tries it.

Just my 2¢..."hoodies" should be illegal to wear 'up' in a public building. You should have to pull it down/off when entering a business or public place. Anyone that doesn't should be suspect as a potential criminal. How many times has a hood concealed a shooters face? Too many!
