Rain Here, But Heavy Snow Coming To East Coast

An army of snow removal equipment is ready to go in and around the nation's capital as the mid-Atlantic region expects to get punished by a major winter storm.

In northern Virginia, officials say 1,800 trucks will be ready to roll by morning. Maryland has 2,000.

Total snow accumulations of 16 to 24 inches are expected, resulting in cancellation of flights and train services.

To the south, in Richmond, Virginia legislators are taking a day off today.

Officials are warning residents to finish preparations early.

A mid-December storm brought about 20 inches in many areas. Between that and several smaller snowfalls, regional officials say they spent way more than budgeted for clearing and treating roads.

you know it is a shame ugly comments are made about our weather men. Only God is responsible for the weather they do the best they can with the knowledge God gives them and the knowledge that God has given human beings for inventions such as satelitte technology to help us prepare for storms without it we would be in trouble. Thank you WITN TV7 for all you do to keep us informed and all the hours you put in to help our community

Oh, I hope it doesn't snow here! After last week's winter storm, we're just not ready for another disaster. I pray that we please don't get hammered like we did here in Plymouth in the big snow of January 39th. It's bitter cold out now! What will we do if it snows again? Oh, I hope not! I pray not!

Thank God we are getting the rain and not the snow. I'm sick of the dirty snow that lays on the side of the road ways. It look terrible.

Did you read the article? It doesn't say anything about us getting snow. Remember God's humor with Katrina? So if God controls the weather, then no, I don't like it.
