National Guard Soldiers Return To Martin County

A crowd in Martin County erupted in cheers Monday when two-buses full of National Guard members pulled up.

The Alpha company has been deployed in Iraq for more than a year.

Forty-seven soldiers returned to Williamston Monday and their families and friends couldn't have been more excited to see them.

One solider told us the first thing he plans to do is take a shower -- another commented he'll be breaking out a sled and taking advantage of the recent snow.

The soldiers we spoke to say they feel like they made a difference in Iraq and hope their efforts pay off.

The Alpha company spent the last week in Georgia de-briefing and will be back together again in April for a ceremony honoring their efforts.
