Toyota Suspends U.S. Sales Of Recalled Models

In the wake of a massive recall announced last week, Toyota is suspending U.S. sales of several models.

The sales suspension includes late model Corolla, Matrix, Avalon, Camry, Highlander, Rav-4, Tundra, and Sequoia vehicles.

The Japanese automaker recalled the vehicles in order to fix problems that could cause accelerator pedals to stick.

Toyota is also halting production the week of February first at five manufacturing facilities.

The recall involves over two million vehicles. That's just months after Toyota recalled more than four million vehicles due to gas pedals that could
become stuck under floor mats causing the vehicles to accelerate.

Don't buy any Car or Truck. Buy a Liquor Cycle! No License, No insurance, No Inspection. Just a Brain Bucket and 100 miles per Gallon!

By buying a Toyota you are still supporting your country. GM, Chrysler and Ford all have plants in Canada and Mexico. But no matter what you buy you are supporting the economy locally, you support the service and parts staff with each return to the dealership, and the sales and management as you purchase the car. But no matter what new car you buy you're also screwing yourself. Nothing has a faster depreciation rate, American, German, Japanese, whatever BUY USED!!! There's plenty of 2 yr old low mileage half priced cars out there with remaining warranty. I can't grasp why anyone would buy new other than just being able to say "it's new" Of course, the more people buy newthe better selection I have when looking for my next commuter/tow rig/dog hauler...

Move to Japan and enjoy their quality of life over there. They do employ and build here in America but they are still a foreign company.

Stan maybe you should get your facts straight before you pop off on a stupid blog. I am in the process of buying a toyota right now. The recall is because of american made parts and the car im buying isnt affected because its made in japan!!!! I would love to buy american but we cant even seem to make a good gas pedal so how do you expect us to make the rest of the car good? you buy american and i will buy quality!

Every manufacture has recalls, the brakes on my GM, Ford, and my dodge were all recalled at some point. What really disturbs me is the people that have the throttle stick wide open and lose control and crash. One of them being a state trooper somewhere. No matter what you drive, if the throttle hangs, put it in neutral.

Toyota has suspended selling certain models - stopped production - but after calling my local dealership their hands are tied as to how to fix the cars already sold until the buyor receives a recall letter. So are consumers to continue to drive their products until they receive the "recall letter"? Looks like they'd given their dealerships more information to offer to their customers. We've been told there is a problem - a family has died - but they can't offer any solutions or help unless the consumer has the magic "recall letter". I think WITN had more information that the Washington Dealership, which certainly isn't their fault!!! Get it together Toyota Management!

Nope I am actually the one trying to do 5 over. If you are even doing the speed limit expect to see me in your rear view flashing the lights and blowing the horn until you move over or speed up!
