"Hope For Haiti" Telethon Friday

The music world's top stars are signing on for Friday's "Hope for Haiti" telethon.

Bruce Springsteen, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban and Alicia Keys are just a few of the performers who will be featured, according to MTV Networks, an integral partner in the event.

People can purchase the night's performances for 99 cents each through iTunes starting Saturday. A statement released Tuesday says all proceeds will go to Haiti relief.

Haiti was devastated and thousands of its citizens killed when an earthquake hit the Caribbean nation last week.

The "Hope for Haiti" benefit will be broadcast from New York, Los Angeles, London and Haiti. It will be televised on all the major networks plus several additional channels.

I read this article with such hope and happiness. Then I read some of the comments and it never ceases to amaze me how ignorant religious people can be and how quick they are to judge. Also how Americans can be so self centered and non-caring about humanity. Babies are dead and dying, homeless and starving. Ask yourself...before you open your mouth or post your comments...WWJ say? I really thought we had come further than we have. I guess I am naive. But the post by Thomas and others was sickening. During the flood here in Eastern NC--did you care about where the help came from? AS long as someone loved enough to give? How quickly we are to judge and forget to love our neighbor.

It's always the same liberals who are involved in these money making scams. Where is Bono and U2?

Just be careful as to which charity the money raised by this telethon goes to. make sure it is reputable. 2 excellent charities are THE AMERICAN RED CROSS AND SAMARITANS PURSE.

I will not be watching. Here is a country riddled with the aids virus and where the majority of people do not believe in God or Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. They practice black majic, voodo, and all sorts of bs and spread the aids like wildfire due to the obvious lack of morals. Anyway God's wrath is just that. Read the book of Revalation even if you are an atheist and just see if any of this applies in this situation. People will fear God now or when they stand for judgement. I am no saint but I do believe God is at work here.

I think we have enough of our own problems to deal with.we always stick our nose in somebody else'e business and that is why we are in the state we are today(soldiers overseas, gas prices, hungry kids, unemployment rates, etc)
