Elizabeth City Coast Guard Air Crew Aids Haiti Relief Efforts

Crews from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City are among those involved in relief efforts in Haiti.

A C-130 Hercules from Elizabeth City, fully loaded with first responders and equipment to assist those affected by the earthquake, left Homestead, Florida Thursday for Haiti.

The aircraft took nearly 30 first responders down to Port Au Prince, Haiti, to assist those affected by the earthquake.

You're right OSOC and Tom, and the sad part is that once this is over the world will be back to telling us how sorry we are, actually people right here will be telling the world how bad we are. And WITN Mod, please find a pix of a coast Guard C-130 to put at the top, nothing against the air force, but I'm an old retired Coastie that used to fly on hercs, so it's personal, (a little). Buzz-

Actual footage showed the white coast guard plane with "Elizabeth City" on the front left on the C-130. Tom, the chinese gave one million dollars...which is sad for such a large GDP. Of course the US always comes to every countries aid. Obama must not have known this when he gave out his port stimulus bill.

14 Trillion dollars in the red and somehow we are the ones that are going to send the most aid? Where are we getting the money? Are we borrowing more from China to give away to someone else? Let people and private charities assist. The USA is broke and doesn't have the money. I know it is a tragedy. But so is a Nation that is up to its' neck in debt and beginning to drown.

Lets go BIG RED, We can show the world our generosity, we can contribute tons of our Corn to the effort. Energy Biscuits and Peanut Butter rations will help but our Corn will save lives NOW. When our children are hungry they need food NOW. Our Governor needs to act NOW. The Haitians need our help NOW. Each hour that passes means more deaths in the streets of Haiti. As Nebraskans we have the ability to feed thousands, We can save countless lives but we need to act NOW. Call your Congressman, Call your Governor, our precious and abundant resource of Corn can save lives in this catastrophe. We can show the world that the land of "Big Red" can come through with the most precious of Gods gifts - "FOOD." Lets "GIT-R-DONE" the old fashioned way. Feed the people . . . NOW. God bless all. kp.
