George Clooney, MTV Working On Haiti Telethon

MTV Networks is working with George Clooney to stage a telethon for Haitian earthquake relief.

MTV spokesman Mark Jafar said Thursday that details are still being worked out.

There's no word yet about other stars getting involved. But a representative for Clooney said the actor is in process of helping organize the telethon, which likely would air Jan. 22 on all MTV Networks -- which include VH1, Comedy Central and CMT -- as well as on ABC, NBC, HBO and CNN.

Thousands are feared dead after the massive earthquake, and the Caribbean island nation desperately needs aid.

Anonymous at 6:46AM, I am so thankful that Pitt and Jolie donated a million dollars. Of course, CNN was right on top of it. My heart is filled with joy. However, whwere are they when a disaster strikes here? Oh, that's right. They are there, with entourage and camera crews in tow. They are phonies, just like Clooney nd all the rest of them. They don't care about their own country. I have one question through this drama- Where's Oprah??? In reality, if it happened here, I would be concerned. That may sound cold, but I'm tired of seeing OUR resources, OUR military and aid workers, and OUR money going out the window to save the world while we can't even take of OUR own here.

Oh yea, Brad and Anglina gave ONE MILLION, but they also made sure it was known just how much they were giving. They get it back at tax time I'm sure.

He has access to more resources and money to donate than most people do. He's only doing this just to get him name out there. He can donate millions of dollars, along with the rest of the Hollywood elite, without even putting a dent in their bank accounts. So how much has he given without being asked??

How do you not know they don't give their own money? Brad and Anglina gave ONE MILLION. The thing about it is the famous are in a place where they can act fast to get people on board by doing things like this. I think it's a great thing to do...Those of you who complain...what have you done? Or do you do anything at all?

"don't get it", they can't donate their own money. That may be something that Christ might do. Instead, they want YOUR money. This is just another chance for the same bunch of overrated, Obama worshipping egomaniacs to make everyone else feel guilty and get their mugs on CNN talking with Anderson Cooper or another one of Oprah's do-boys.

It is amazing how fast Clooney, Pitt, and the rest of the Hollywood liberals jump on the "Hey, Look At Me" bandwagon after a natural disaster, especially when it involves people other than Americans. Where were they when tornadoes hit the Midwest several years ago? Traitors.

these people have MORE MONEY THAN GOD. why dont they donate most of their own money if they care more about haitis victims than their own publicity?
