Some Still Wait On Fate Of Local Loved Ones In Haiti

Some local residents say their loved ones were on a mission trip to Haiti when the massive earthquake struck.

Jody Keen of Bethel in Pitt County says his wife left on Monday to the economically poor country to work in a clinic. He says he talked to her through facebook, one of the only means to communicate with her. He says despite this close call, he's not worried.

Unlike Keen, Jimmy Hite of Greenville is still waiting to hear from the Dean of the Haitian School of Nursing and the Bishop at the Episcopal church. "It's frustrating. You do what you can the rest is pray, you pray your people are okay."

Could you guys (WITN) please keep the "How to Help" information on the screen for a little while longer. It's already off of the front page and I really think that it still needs to be there.
