Health Care Gift Card Stocking Stuffers?

Health care providers are hoping some people will give the gift of medical care this year.

Several health care companies are rolling out gift cards similar to those offered by retail stores and restaurants. Some can be used to pay bills or insurance premiums while others give holders discounts on specific services or purchases.

But industry observers say some cards may not be right for many consumers because they have numerous restrictions or because they cost more than the benefit is worth.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida sells cards at Winn-Dixie and CVS stores. With its $19 card, recipients receive discounts on vision care, dental work and prescription drugs.

Its $59 card can be used to help pay a premium or toward access to health insurance.

Barlow. I see where you got your 62% figure from. CNN. OMG, you've ingested more poison from the king of biased left extremists. CNN, their comrades at The un-American Medical Association, The un-American AARP LIE AND DISTORT the truth because they're all riding in the same somali pirate boat trying to sink our ship. Believe one thing, the cub scouts in camp Obamination promote lies and DISTORT the truth within our lamestream media. Heck, most Americans know that they're all fixed. Anything but the truth is a lie. People in countries you've mentioned do not have a choice. Their rights & freedoms are few because their governments pretty much own there butts (outrageous taxes & energy costs). I know because my family travels to Europe and met many unhappy people. You voted more government into your life and you're going to get it wheither you like it or not. Barlow has two degrees, I'm a 45 yr old design engineer etc..with a degree...hmm what happened to your thinker dude? Get Real!!!!

US citizen for now: Thanks for your concern but I actually have 2 college degrees and a pretty decent job. That doesn't mean I, or anybody else in the middle class, can afford an extended hospital stay. No one in Britain or the Scandinavian countries EVER goes bankrupt because of medical bills, here its 62% of all bankruptcies . But they don't talk about that much on Faked News do they?

BLABLABLA, how bout bettering yourself and go to college get a degree and you'll get a decent job making great pay. You could work for a large employer which has an affordable health care plan which covers you well. You made your decisions just like the rest of the 30 million who're going to send this country spiraling into trillions of dollars in more debt. Are you guys laid up in the hospital all the time or what? Get a life, do something to improve your situation and stop complaining.
